i think the shop will tell u that u will need to reppaint the whole entir hood

damm that sucks that someone would do that. Is it on the hood? Also with touch up paint since your car is black it might work but with my car my touch up paint didn't match at all, it was like putting liquid paper to match pearl white....maybe cos its a 10yr old touch up paint lol. I would do a respray too.

sorry to hear about your misfortune man.

would it make sense to consider a fiberglass or carbon fiber hood?

Sorry not a big fan of carbon fiber. I think I may have take it to the shop because I have no idea how to do touchup.
Is it a good idea to repaint the entire hood since the hood got some tiny chip paint in the front? Wonder how much the cost for entire hood paint.

Is it possible that it was a sharp rock that glanced off your hood and was not done by human hands? I'd like to hope so, but I guess you'll never know for sure.

I wouldn't think any fying object can leave a perfect line like that, I would hope so but not this one.

lol a CAT left a deep scratch on my hood, deep as yours. All i did was got some toyota touch up paint.

Take some sandpaper, file it down, use some touch up paint, file that down, touch it up, sand it down WET SAND THOUGH!

Should I pay $150 to get it fix? Cause I have no idea how all the process work. I'm afriad I'll make it worst. Maybe Jeff Tsai can fix it for me since he live I dfw area also

I just got back from the body shop for an estimates. The guy charge me $250 to repaint the entire hood. At the same time i asked him to repaint the entire front&rear(half way down) bumper also. Total $600 with 3 yrs warranty. What do ya'll think about it?
