So the question is: Who's going to be the first guinea pig? Or can we find someone who's already done it!?

Thumbs up I'll Do It!!

Bit - When I get a response from JET I'll probably be the guinea pig. Craig told me ( from his contact ) the same $398 price on the package. Don't know how ofter they update their website but I, too, was discouraged to not see an mention of the Lexus marque' as an application. However, it's my understanding that JET just got the Tundra contract so maybe it's too soon. I was encouraged that JET offers custom programming for those of us with pre-existing mods ( read: SRT intake ) so I'll keep ya'll posted.

I know where Jet is located. It is in Huntington Beach right next to Rod Millen.

The MAJOR difference between modding in the past and now is COMPUTERS. They now control EVERYTHING. I am sure there is a way to program the GS to perform at higher compression ratios. Check out the 400hp roadster a couple of years ago, no SC, no turbo.

If we could figure it out without damaging the REST of the computers, it'd be oh so GRAVEY!!!!

But I do not feel like voiding the warrenty thank you

The ecu upgrades are all done per the application, in other words, do all the modifications you intend on doing before you get the ecu upgraded. That way the program can be set up for the specific modifications.Hp gains would be dependant on the extent of modifications.

I still don't get it. How are they going to tune the ECU to the optimal without having your car on the dynojet? They may have some general info about aftermarket parts, such as Borla muffler, Blitz intake filter and etc but if there are some parts that they have never heard about before, would they just use the "default mode"?

Like AB-Flug exhausts. Would they just assume it's a regular muffler?

Dennis,

They do not care about the brand of your exhaust or intake. They only add a fraction to the intake parameters if you have an aftermarket intake. And they just set the exhaust parameter a little higher presumable that your aftermarket exhaust flows better than stock.

I've ordered chips before, they only need to know if you have intake, exhaust, cams... modifications. Wheather they are Greddy, HKS, WR, Blitz, just makes no differences.

Jacob,

Did they just adjust the fuel map or they also modify other parameters such as ignition time and etc? Since you've had their product before, did you see any improvement in your vehicle? It's not on your GS, right?

I did not order my chip from JET. I ordered chip for my M3 before. It made a big difference after you pluged it in. I believe they only remap the fuel/air ratio if you only have intake and exhaust. They modify inginition timing if you have cam gears swapped.

Jacob,
The big question is whether the JET chip works for the GS and give true HP increase that they claim...Maybe someone can ask them for the dyno graphs for the GS400 as proof of the perf increase...

I assume the M3 chip was either Dinan's or Jim Fortuni's "Shark" ECU upgrade. Those guys specialize in BMW's so they would get better perf numbers than JET which probably offers a more generic and thus, conservative remap.
