Default rear differential issue

so my car have been getting the 'clunk' noise from the rear differential for a while whenever i shift into drive/reverse or anything else. i had my car serviced at a lexus service shop for a rear differential leak a while back but i don't know what is the problem now. Does anyone know?
thanks in advanced.

If Lexus repaired the leak before have them check it out to make sure there isn't a leak again. If they did the work, I am sure they have some kind of warranty on it.

Check your differential mount bushings.

check your oil, see if it was still leaking somewhere, the diff mounts, then check the drive shaft. GL. i hate fixing stuff under the car ( no lift )

Like what people have said in prior post. The first thing you want to check is rear differential. I'm not sure if the dealership remove the axles out when they fixed the leak, but when you remove the axle from the differential, you want new gaskets that the bolts attaching the axle to the differential. This is similar to your oil drain plug gasket where it crushes down when torqued down to spec. Next, you wanna check to see if the driveshaft is bent or not as this can contribute to the noise. Lastly, if this doesn't solve your problem, open the rear cover on your differential to check if you had alot of runouts from the gear.

Check the condition of the differential fluid. I just changed mines today it was all sludged up w/ a greenish color. YUCK! Amsoil Long Life Synthetic 75w - 90 is the way to go!
