Default GS400 headlight question

Hello there,
I'm new to CL and I've already read numerous threads that were very helpful.
I have a quick question, I have a 1998 GS400 with HID headlights, but i don't have the daytime running lights that were added in 2001. I wanted to know if i could retrofit or add them to my car. If so is that something that could be done DIY or would it be handled with the dealer. Thanks

Its somewhat of a bloody wiring nightmare to make it work properly. I've looked into it back in the day, and it wasn't very feasible as the DRL's are a integral part of headlight wiring. So you might be out of luck there unless you are willing to put in a lot of time and effort to do some rewiring.
