Talking Is it OK to use D2S 6000K instead of D2R?

SUVLIGHTS.com only has Philips D2S bulbs at this time. There is a quate from their e-mail:
?at this time we only have Philips D2S 6000K. They will fit into your D2R housing The D2S does not have any shielding there fore more light output and whiter ?

Is it OK to use this bulb? Has anybody tried it? I better wait for D2R , I, guess, but need your opinion

I've talked to Philips people before and they do not recommend putting D2S bulbs in D2R HID assemblies. The D2S bulbs are designed for projector type HIDs, and improper light reflection that would be caused by putting the D2S bulbs in D2R housing might cause damages to the HID system.

So I say don't do it.

I think they both look the same except the d2rs have a coating on them. Anyway ask the guy at suvlights to hook up clublex folks with a deal. Tell Him that you are also TTORA member.

I'll try to get a hold of the guy and work something out.
