Default How do I install my rear lip spoiler?

I have had a nice TTE rear lip spoiler for quite some time now and I need some advice on how to install it. It's not one of those skinny (strip) lip spoilers it is approximately 5" wide. Do I just glue it down? If so, what type of glue? Will it hold? Should I have it professionally installed?

Thanks

3m adhesive tape and it won't go anywhere. Just make sure the surfaces are cleaned and it would be a good idea to rub the areas where the tape will be with alcohol to remove and dirt/wax/residue. If you aren't sure how to do it I would just let a shop do it

two-three longs strips of 3M double sided tape along the length of the whole lip... prep both surfaces with alcohol and ensure that it is dry and clean before placing the lip onto the trunk...

pics of the lip???

I would have to disagree with you guys. Stay away from the 3M adhesive. Use something stronger. I had a lip spoiler ripped right off my trunk a few months back and I did everything Rich suggested.

sorry to hear that... did it come off with the wind or someone ripped it off???

i agree that it is not going to stop a thief ripping off your lip spoiler... it is above and beyond what 3M is capable of holding on but unless the lip spoiler is designed to be screwed on or has clips, this is probably your common option for installation...

the 3M is still strong enough to hold the lip on at 100 mph+...

If you want to be able to ever remove the spoiler put it on 3M tape the shop type though not the cheaper ones. If you dont you can glue it down using 3M Window Weld and that thing is not going anywhere, but if you ever want to remove you would probably damage the spoiler and need to repaint your trunk to get rid of the adhesive.

You're talking TTE trunk spoiler, right?

3M Heavy Duty tape is the best....once its sets (about 24 hrs later), its very tough to remove.
