Default Emblems

been a member here for probably about a month or two, although i havent posted much given the fact i have been extremely busy at work.

I searched around this thread a bit, and my question has "sort of" been answered, although there is alot of input and i want to see what you guys feel works best.

Took off the GS300 and the LEXUS eblem on the trunk. The emblems came off easy, and the glue from the GS emblem wasnt that bad taking off.

As far as the LEXUS emblem, i can not get the glue off the trunk! I have been using 3M adhesive remover and as i stated above, it worked fine taking off the residue from the GS. I must have sprayed and wiped the LEXUS side 25+ times, and i still have the outline of glue that says lexus lol.

Which product do you guys feel is best for taking this off?

I recently did this aswell. The glue part was baked on to the car. I used goof off and bug/tar remover..(make sure its paint safe) I soaked the sticky remains for a min or two then I used my buffer to slightly agitate/remove the glue VERY slowly LITTLE at a time. After that i used a wax and sealant to seal the deal. Came out FLAWLESSLY.

hope this helps gl.

Try a detailing clay bar. It should remove all contaminants off your paint safely. Plus you can do the entire car and it makes a huge difference!

For that smooth feel you need to follow up the clay bar with sealant, or a good wax job. Clay barring the car just removes all the stuff that's built up on your paint. If you didn't wax or seal the car...your car is basically nude with nothing protecting the clear coat.

Superglue!! Damn! That's awesome.

Oh yeah, I use a pinstripping stripping tool. I purchased it off a Matco tool truck. It attaches to any drill and is sort of like a big round eraser, and works wonders.
