Default Telescoping wheel help

Where is the relay that controls the telescoping of the steering wheel? My steering wheel doesn't come down when it's cold and it's gotten very old already. Anyone else have this problem and fixed it?

Thanks in advance.

I have the exact same problem! The only way i can get it to come down is by pushing it up with my knee and letting it drop by removing my knee quickly. Sometimes it works

I appreciate the temporary fix, but I was looking at a more permanent solution.

I had the same problem last year during the winter, Now it just stuck in the up position. Would be nice if anyone could shed some light on this problem, a diy on what needs to be switched out or oiled up would be greatly appreciated.

I had the same problem, but ended up replacing the whole steering wheel with all the sensors, motors and so forth. You could try opening it up and regreasing with lithium grease.

Default Cold telescoping wheel freeze

I have had the same problem with my 99 GS w/ 114,000 miles. End up driving for 30 minutes like a tractor with the heat on high, then turn off the car. On restarting I have to toggle the steering wheel back down to where I want it. Only happens when it is cold out. Clueless as to a fix too... DIY would be nice.
