The mystery BOLT of headlight changing
Well my fiancee wrecked my car this last year and while insurance covered one new complete headlight I couldn't squeek the other one by them. So I bought a new one and did the transplant myself ( hell I could not have my lights not matching ) . It is not really all that hard once you know what your are looking at I hope these pictures help others in their quest to save a few bucks and not pay the dealer $350 to do it.
As most of you who try this and get mad like I did cause it does just not seem to come out here is that mystery bolt that you just can't find but know it is there.
Now the secret to getting to this bolt is to dam bumper nuts you undo those and you are in the clear, here they are.
The bottom one is easy the top one... Well that is a different story if you have big hands like me.
Now look at he pictuer above to get to the white arrow (the last bolt) you need to undo the blue and the red nuts holding the bumper on. You can get to these by loosing the inner wheel well and turning the tire so that your arm can fit in there easily. The blue one is pretty easy to get to so that one I will let you figure out by picture. The red one is trickier. I have two paths drawn out the first path is the one I took the first time around to loosen the bolt (follow the lines). The second path is a little easier if you have a short extension and a nice little magnetic 10mm socket. You simply slip it through that little spot there and BAM you got it. Still takes some effort but if my big *** hands can do it so can yours.
A couple more pictures so you can see what I am talking about. First far away then a close up for you.

I hope this helps some people and saves you some money in these tough times

Yeah, my car came with only 1 of the 2 bolts too.
Well, it's better than a 97ish Eclipse, to take out the headlight, there's a bolt behind the bumper which you have to take out the bumper to gain access just like our 2GS
But the problems comes there's a bolt below the headlight that you can't reach other than taking the light out... so all us DSMers choose to rip the bumper out better than ripping the headlight out... So stupid.
