Default How do you replaced rear license plate bulbs?

On my 1st gen GS the bulb covers were held in by screws, but on the 2nd gen I dont see any screws? Do I have to take apart the whole trunk to get to them?

oh you just have to take out the clips for the trunk lining, and pull it off. you should then be able to locate the bulbs in order for you to replace them

If you have the newer trunk with the emergency trunk release handle on the trunk lid, the trim plate around that handle is a PITA to remove. It is possible to just bend the liner down enough to access the lights, but even with my small hands it was much easier if you remove the entire liner.

You have to open your trunk, remove the carpeting, twist the bulbs counter clock wise, and voila!

So what trick are you guys using to remove the hard plastic trim around the emergency trunk release handle? Every time I remove it, it feels like it will crack and snap in half. I did it twice, now I just left the trim piece off since I have been removing that liner often.

Use a pair of pliers. Works great all the time.
