Default chrome molding cleaning

IS there a way to bring the thin chrome molding that goes around the car back to life.

If cleaning is too much of a hassle, the dealer sells new strip (for front and rear bumper) for about $65-70. I went to pepboys and bought a roll of chrome strip for $20 and it was enough to replace the front and rear. The only thing is that it's not as thick, but if I didn't tell you, you probably would have never noticed.

Yeah yeah yeah

Mine is starting to fade again though . I'm probably just going to replace it after I get my car repainted, as Gsteg mentioned.
