is anyone from you got their GS400 year year 1998 *WITH* factory HID?

i have someone who says there is no such thing, and on another hand I have other folks who says that there is..

please replay to this post with how you got your GS 400 '98

Mine, and a whole helluva lot of others, came with Factory HIDs - whomever told you the GS can't come with such an option, is talkin out their @ss

Try using the search function too for "factory options" I think its been spelled out there too more than once.

unfortunately .. i don't have HID's but I do have the spoiler. I was under the impression that the spoiler only came with "special packages". Either the Nav or Nakamichi, which I have neither of.

I guess I have the "stripped down" version =P

Looks like I didn't do my total research before getting my car.

But the other Lex's i saw had old looking nav screens. Heated seats would have been nice for California (at least 3 days of the year)

I'm satisfied everytime I smoke the tires.

Go over to Edmunds, select "used", select "Lexus", select "1998", select "GS400", go to "options" and read to your heart's content. Or go to Lexus' web site (that would be www.lexus.com; not too difficult to guess, since long ago I found it without even a search! Amazing!) and you ought to be able to do similar stuff.

Imagine what you could find out about your Lexus that way.........much better source than "this dude" or in the case of the first post "someone"..... :eek:

hi guys.
a1lex, mine has factory hIDs, heated seats,NAV, factory spoiler,(built,no interior third light).you can see it at the next ct meet,if you make it.whoever is telling you this, probable does not have a GS and is obeviously speaking to a subject to which he know's very little about.

alex, my apologies. As of a few months ago, Edmunds provided the various options as well as option packages. Try this from Lexus' web site. HIDs were optional.

The information for my 1998 GS400 under the "my vehicle" section of the owner's section of the Lexus.com web site reads:

I dont' know what the option package was called, but as you can see, I have the HID headlights, and I don't have the navigation system or the factory spoiler.

oh man! i owe you a beer or somethin the dude who sold me lexus said that HID came with it but when i was picking it up no HID was there, i asked him what's the (ahem) is going on and he goes like "um, HID wasn't even an option in this car" I was like bull $h1t" 'cause my buddy owns same lexus and he has HID and he got his from the lexus dealership, he said he'll refund me $1k for this if i provide proff.. well that url out to do it i showed him some emails from eBay sellers but he refused to belive them... lexus.com is more then enough

More than welcome. Edmunds used to actually show all the options packages with their codes.

BTW, I drink Bud and I keep Anheuser-Busch working 3 shifts..........
