Default Yellow Fog Lights

For the life of me, I can't figure out what is going on with my lower left fog light. I went as far as buying a new fog light 2 years ago, and put a brand new bulb in it. After only a few months, the bulb will blow. Short? Where, how?

Check the fuse, probably blown or shorting?

If the fuse was blown, it wouldn't work at all right? Does the one fuse control both fogs? Cause my right fog is fine

There should be only one fuse for both fogs.

Perhaps your connectors are dirty?

it sounds like either the relay is acting up, or the master ecu computer is failing. I'd go the lexus dealer ship and have them take a look at it

Does the housing have any cracks or any moisture in it? Are you using a stock bulb or something with a higher wattage?

Water got into them? Your splash guard is open on the wheel wall or at the bottom of the bumper splash guard is open? Water gets into it? If not, check the wiring.

When you installed the bulb....did you touch the glass with your fingers? The oils from your fingers....onto the glass....when heated may cause the bulb to blow.

Clean with rubbing alcohol if you did touch the glass....or better yet....try not to touch them at all.

I am not following the splash guard comment.

Geez, so senitive are these bulbs? it is a new casing, as I did have a previous one that was cracked. Should I remove the casing and seal it or something? How can I verify a short? (Again, prob not the fuse since one fog always works). Thanks

Well, I took out the casing and it was dry inside, however, when attempting to unplug the blown bulb from the outside, water leaked from the outside wiring. The wiring is sealed with a rubber surrounding up to the point of the connection opening, so I wrapped eletrical tape all around it. Going to buy another bulb now and see how long that lasts.
