Hey guys,
I will be getting my TTE lip painted and install in the upcoming weeks & was wondering if anyone had done this before? Is it really worth it? (I did a search, could not find anything on this)
Thanks in advance,
Mark

Sean - I am not really feeling the clear bra on the entire front end as I had it on my car previously before I gotten my entire car re-painted last fall. When the ppl at the body shop removed the clear bra it took a big part of the paint with it.
Also, I do not drive the car as often as I did to get the entire front done.
I was thinking just to get the lip only because its bound to get chipped.

I can confirm this from experience with my wald lip. I will never do a clear bra again. Yes it saves from rock chips and such but when you get a rip in it or scrape it, the bra starts looking terrible, much worse than if you had a rock chip or scratch. I would save the money for when you need to repaint the front end in a few years

Many people stand behind clear bra. I for one hate the way that the dust accumulates around the edges and like the look of the paint without the clear bra. But I also like the protection that it gives you so IMHO clear bra's postivies far outweigh its negatives. If I was to tell you the price of how much it would cost to clear bra your lip you would chose to repaint every year than clear it. It is much more expensive. Plus clear bra is usually there to protect factory paint. Why when you pulled the clear off it took a chunk of paint with it is due to the job that your painter did either bad prep, not enough adhesion promoter, or others. When you pull clear bra off of factory paint the paint does not come off.

Another reason it can take paint off is if you put the clear bra on too soon after the car is repainted. The manufacturer of my clear bra stated to wait 2 weeks so I waited 3, just to make sure the paint is cured.

I am a full believer in the clear bra.....I would wrap the whole car in this sh&^ if I could. I drive highway constantly. It has saved my 2nd front clip paint job from certain destruction. I tailgate mfers in hummers going 70 in the left lane with no worries about rocks son!! Have changed my front windshield 3 times due to the clear bra muscles I have now, I'm invincible to those mutherfers. Get the clear bra and live to see another day!!!!
