Complete loss of power randomnly when starting, now have to jump start?
Anyone ever experience this? this all started about a month ago. I went somewhere, went out to start my car, the steering wheel went about halfway down and just stopped. Couldn't unlock/lock my doors, no power anywhere. Waited a couple minutes and tried again and there was no problem. This started to happen more often and now, i have to jump start my car to get it on. I drove it around for maybe 15 mins, came up and expected it to start up again with nothing. I'll have to jump it again. I'm going to take it into the dealer but just wanted an idea if this is common or not.

check battery connection... aka cables, mine unlocked the car, then when I got in, start the car, nothing... the wiggled the connector around, left the door open while at it, I saw my interior lights lit up, then I start the car fine.
our cars have a reserve power for unlock/locking the doors when the battery ran out, but that's all the power it's for, can't power much more....

It happened to me and all it was is just the battery terminal connector. . . My positive one was all loose even when I tried to tighten it up to the max. . . If that happens again try wiggling the connectors most likely one of them is loose and that usually gets it going again

I just bought a 2001 gs430 and it has teh same problem.
Even if i tighten it all the way it's still kinda loose. I did notice that the prior owner jammed a nail in there trying to make it more snug.....

check cable to see if its loose or corroded, battery for voltage KOEO(12.6) / KOER (13-14volts).... If no volt meter is availble then start the car and then take out the positive cable and see if the alternator is putting out and it should run by itself and if it dies then its your alternator... hope this helps

thanks for the help guys. Sure enough, it was just a damn loose positive terminal on my battery like you guys said. I had to jump my integra a couple months back and left the red cover off of it. I tightened it back up (still loose though) and put the cap back on. Everything works fine now. Thanks!
