The guy is actually a Club Lexus member I believe. Yes the grill is just painted over chrome. The paint can be removed with various chemicals. If you want to do it yourself check the threads for the how to. Search for chrome grill

Do all the lexus grills have chrome behind them, ex. the LX470? There is a small chip on my grill, and I did notice it seems to be shiny chrome?

Enginyr, your the one selling your skills on EBay, nice way to hustle a couple of bucks. My 470 seems to be chrome under the black paint. I was thinking of using the method posted on here in the past that removes the paint, but I am not sure if the whole grill is chrome underneath, would suck if only part of it was chrome and there was a couple of bars that were like bright pink!! Do you know if it is completly chrome? Thanks
p.s. they should really change their jingle to lick snuggle boink

I don't see it as a hustle...I charge for a service of knowledge, the acuracy and timely delivery of the grill. You ship me your grill over night. I can have it done and shipped back the next day. I have done quite a few grills and someone without the time or patience will really screw their grill up. It takes about 2-3 hours to remove the paint, which breaks down to $20/hr. Quite a steal imo

Steve, where do you find time to do all this stuff? My girlfriend takes all my free time. If I begin to spend to much time on my car, she gets mad. Damn woman...

I have to agree that is a fair price to pay IMO. It is quite the PITA to do. Also, don't you fully chrome the grills?
