Lexus stops GS300 Production!

Remember with Toyota killed the resale of the Supra's by dropping the list price on the new one by something like 10 grand? I don't remember the exact number since I never owned a Supra, but I remember thinking just how pissed off those owners must have been.
Damn, think about it. The 97 gs300 was as expensive as the GS400 was when it came out in 98. The GS300 then dropped in price by $8K. I can see it happening again...

then in 97', the Supra TT was $40k, Supra NA was $30k
-- also, since 97' was an "anniversary year" model, all options that you had to pay for were standard.
imagine buying a 96' Supra NA without many options, only to find that a Supra TT fully loaded was available for the same price a year later...

Right... there's a difference between 'rare' and 'highly sought after'.

Supposition
Do you suppose lexus was all set to begin production of the GS330 when they discovered that they might just need all the V6 production they could get their hands on to replace all of those V6 engines subject to sludging failures?
In the meantime with no GS300's to sell in the near future the I6 production line was "discarded"?

And Lexus does slow production or maybe stop when it is about to bring out a new body style... look how rare it is to see a 96' or 97' GS3 with the slightly modified trunk...

GS300
Whatever happens I pray that it will be able to whip up on M5 and Audi straight from the factory. Just make some cosmetics changes. But, don't change nothing if ain't broke. Make the NEW GS handle like dream and offer all the same features as before and some new upgrades like a NAV/DVD player. Thanks...
