Default Help with wing install

Hi All

I have a 01 GS430. I'm getting around to doing little stuff in the modding side and purchased a OEM Wing w/light from someone here on the forum. It did not come with any hardware. I've searched and I've come up with nothing. I did find some pages that I've book marked for future mods but no one seems to have anything on this type of install and maybe a hardware profile. I've visited LexusParts.com and found some of the hardware that I need but it does not show the install. Can anyone take some detailed pictures of your OEM wing and either send it to me or better yet post here so that it can be added to the existing sticky.

Thanks in advance for your help

First of all..Welcome to CL..Chris..You can get these hardware kit from dealer and probably installation instruction. To install the wing isn't hard at all..You can search here in the forum as to how to get it done...DIY...

Welcome to CL! Its not hard to install the spoiler, you just need a template to know where to drill the holes. Also you have to make sure that you get the beefer springs so your trunk can support the extra weight of the spoiler. Good luck!

Hey, where can I get a template? I've purchased an OEM wing too that will be painted and installed by summer but don't want to screw up where to position it.

Looks like new and beefier trunk springs too.

Beefier springs? I need some of those, my GS came with the wing and if you arent careful the trunk will slam pretty hard.
Where can we get the beefier spring?

Trunks WITHOUT spoilers are pretty popular and often sought after on this forum. If you check or post in the classifieds for your area you may find someone willing to swap a Spoiler equipped trunk lid and springs with you. No cutting and a perfect fit. Just an idea.

i might be off as im hungover still but cant u adjust a tensioner in the trunk to help with the "tightness" of the trunk....like how easy or hard it is to shut it? if thats so u shouldnt need the "beefier springs" (man that sounds like a word joel made up....he soooooooo likes boys

^ agreed on the spring situation - i was looking in mine and there are 3 slots for the springs to hook in to on each side which in turn increase the tension. mine had a wing and is on the top hole (closest to horizontal). I need to move it down since ive had the wing removed now so my boot flies open haha
