I'll agree with that! If you just want "bling bling", then go for a used SC. Of the other cars you originally listed, only the GS has real pimp potential, but you'd still be compromising...

I say buy a 99 or 2000 GS400 for about 30-33k and the with the remaining money invest in a stage 3 Super Charger. You will smoke the competition including the new M5.

lol jesus, everyone here is into the speed. I'm still into it but only if i get a car that isnt so much luxury. The GS is more luxury than speed. If i want speed I would get a brand new IS 300 and throw in a 2jz-gte TT engine and upgrade the turbos. But I just want looks and pimpin. A GS 400 is something i never see being pimped. All sorts of kids my age around me have 330ci, IS300, A4's, RSX-S', etc. I just want a car to throw some 20's on, lower it about 1.5 inches throw bout 4 TVs in the car maybe a bodykit. And cruise around I95 going 55mph. Anyway I'm gonna give some lexus dealers a call see what they have in stock.
Thanks for the responses, and to whoever said I get everything handed to me. Your not always right. A $50,000 car doesn't mean I get everything. Just means I get a $50,000 car. A car I HAVE to pay insurance for. Same with aftermarket equip.

Well, what ever you decide to get, keep it in the Lexus Family. Can't go wrong there. However, you said you want the pimp look; 20" wheels, t.v's, bodykits, etc. Just remember that when drawing that much attention to your car and only being 18, you are asking for trouble. Police don't like young kids driving better cars then their own. You will also in counter "haters" who will talk ****. But hey, that's the price we pay for the "bling bling" look. Good luck...

stop raggin fellas.........be happy for him!
That's the **** bro........you can a badass car for that kind of money........GS4 would be nice but I have this pig of an SUV named and LX450 I AM SO SICK OF IT IT IS UNBELIEVABLE! I feel like I am towing around my living room. I'm 17 and I feel that I should have something sporty that impresses and is fun, not somthing that can climb mt. everest. That is also the only thing deterring me from a GS......I wanted one for a very long time.
I have an idea.......for 55k you can get a used SC430.........bro, nothing is a ***** getter like that car. You said you didn't care much for speed and wanted the bling effect.........well look no further. Oh and one more suugestiong...........................SUPRA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

FutureGS.
I dont know how far out of NYC you are, but I purchased my CPO GS300 from Lexus of Massapequa. They have a great selection and were more than courteous and professional. I definately reccommend them.
Good Luck

I think this is a simple dilemna....
If you have $40,000 from your mom as a downpaypment and you said you HAVE a job, buy whatever you want with a $40,000 down payment and any lexus dealer will finance / lease the rest to you.
You could go ahead and get a brand new GS430 right now and cought up $40,000 as the downpayment and lease the car (taking you into 2 years minimum when your mom could pay the rest). The lease payment would be so damn small, you COULD have the car of your dreams (and my dreams) with such a small lease payment it would probably be insignificant. The residual payment on the car would probably not be significant either putting less of a burden on your mom (like a good son that you are) at the end of the lease. You would also own a 2002 GS430
in 2004 which is still considered NEW.
Am i making any sense?
Why buy used when you can HAVE new and better in this case?
