Default HVAC, Please Help!

Well yesterday I was driving, and when I pressed the AUTO button the air was directed through the "panel". I was trying to change this to "floor" while still being in the auto mode, but auto would shut off. I figured that's the way it was.

Today I get in my car and press the auto button, and the air is NOW being directed to the "floor"and will not come off floor. Of course I had no luck changing this.

Being it has changed since yesterday, I come to the conclusion you are able to change the air direction while staying in auto mode.

Anyone know how lol?

Btw, I would have searched for a thread on this but my computer is down, and I'm posting from my blackberry...its hard to go through searches, and everything takes forever to load, so I appologize in advance if this topic has been covered.

Thanks

The reason it switches Auto off when you change the location is because you aren't letting it be automatically controlled anymore. You are defeating it by taking control of the "direction" of airflow, hence it's not automatically controlled by the car, that's normal operation.

If you look at the button for the outside/recirculate air it also has an auto function (the middle light) that operates the same way.

Fwiw: Long story short, I can't change air direction in my car without autpo being turned off so I think you have normal operation.

thanks for the reply, i apprecitae it

today i noticed, depending on the temperature you set under auto operation, it switches between "panel", "panel and floor", and "floor". is this normal as well, or is auto operation supposed to stay at one specific airflow?

thanks for your help
