do you want the trim pieces to be standard black paint or did you want black wood????

you MUST wetsand (2000) and polish it for the "glossy" finish. it doesnt matter its plastic, clearcoat is clearcoat, and this is how you get the ultimate shine from it

A light rubbing compound with an orbital buffer should add some gloss and smooth out the imperfections in the clearcoat layer too.
