I don't see it there

well I think that STB is for the 1st Gen JZS14# Aristos, but features an adjustable center bar or something so it can be made to fit 16# Aristos as well.

Yah it's ugly but I think it's the only thing the 14# owners can use

HI!

Okay, I'm trying to make sense of the thread amid all the discussion and I'm just wondering as a sidenote....

If you have a 99 GS300 which doesn't have an engine cover, will spacers be necessary at all?

I'm interested in the TRD STB for *MY* 99 GS300 and I've heard that you still need spacers for it even though the car doesn't have an engine cover.

My question/concern is, why would TRD make an STB for a Lex GS/Aristo that needs spacers with even the most basic engine w/o an engine cover??? Wouldn't they have created an STB that could at least clear that????

Doesn't make sense

If you want TRD STB on a 99 GS300, you NEED SPACERS. It won't even clear the intake manifold without spacers.

To answer your question, TRD made the STB SPECIFICALLY for the JZS161 Aristo V300 with the 2JZ-GTE, which doesn't have the intake manifold on top of the engine. They figured, if you wanna take an Aristo to the track, it BETTER be a V300 or else all you got is a fat sedan that does 0-60 over 7 sec. And also, 4 out of 5 Aristos sold in Japan are V300s, so I guess they just thought there's NO NEED to make a STB that almost touches the hood just so that the S300 owners who probably don't want suspension mods can get them.

Other companies heard the S300 owners' voices. That's why Juran, UGO, RSR, and a few others all made STBs that'll work for the 160 ARisto S300s (US spec GS300 twin).

Does that answer your Q.

Default RICEBOY

Dang,

If that doesn't answer it, I don't know what else does

Oh well, I have a fat GS with a 0-70 over 7.

Daz ok. I really don't race or speed for that matter anyway. I just had the sudden urge to be rice boy since I saw all those fixed up GS's at the meet hahah

Oh well, I guess I'll try to get the spacers.

Thanks GLOBE

Ryan

what you should do is get an STB for the GS300 that doesn't need a spacer. Like one that's designed for the 2JZ-GE engine that we have. Juran, RSR, and UGO can all fit without spacers. But I don't think any of those will clear the engine cover. Just get rid of it man!
