now I need to oder tires and need some help regarding size.
What are the pro's and cons of getting 235/45 which lexus recommends vs 245/45 which many other CL members have
I have price out yoko DBs for both tires at $169/tire which include mounting and balancing. Is this a fair price?
Another CL member suggested that the 245/45 might be more comfortable and quiter but I do not see how a wider tire could be more comfortable and quiter.
Can someone post some pictures of the two sizes on the stock rims?

The wider tire will give you better handling and stopping distance. I have always bought a tire that is "plus one" meaning a little wider for my cars. Regarding the price 169 per tire seems pretty good, seeing as I can get them wholesale for $154 (price includes shipping but not mounting/balancing, usually $10 per tire). I bought Michelin Pilot XGT z4 for my GS when I had it. I loved those tires and when they went bald I bought another set. Good luck.

Okay, I understand this more clearly now after someone explained it to me over at TireRack.com
The 235/45/17
Better low end acceleration but high end acceleration gets slightly worse. Tire sits lower and slightly shorter in width ~3/8 of an inch
The 235's turns more aggressively and handles slightly better than 245's. Since diameter is shorter for every 10k miles you drive, it clocks an extra 150 miles on odometer. Revolutions per mile is 819 times
The 245/45/17
Better high end acceleration but slightly worse low end acceleration. Tire sits higher and wider in width. More comfortable ride but trade off is that is not as responsive as the 235's. If you do not plan on lowering the car, the 245's are a better choice as it sits higher and wider, fills the wheel wells better and looks more aggressive. Revolutions per mile is 808 times
Since I am getting Yoko DBs the treadwear UTQG rating for both sizes is 320 AA.
The max load for anyone who cares is 1433lbs. for the 235's and 1521lbs for the 245's

gs400trd just read your post. Why do you hate the yoko db's. My other choice was toyo t1-s. They price out to be the same about $172 / tire mounted and balanced. The tread rating on that is only 280 AA. Not sure on how quite is but generally people like them as an all around tire.
I use to have the toyo FZ4 on my prelude. No complaints except that they were kinda somewhat noisy.

Yoko dB - I think there is an issue with this tire. Although I was really pleased with it especially the first 4000 miles, it developed some road noise after that. Rotation fixed it though. However, if my alignment was perfect, I would suspect that the road noise would not have set in.
