Default Had Your Car Painted...Step Inside

I had to get some very minor paint work done on my GS. The first couple of days my car smelled like a paint booth. No problem, I would just leave the windows down and let it air out. Now it has been a month and anytime my A/C kicks on all you smell are paint fumes. How did you guys get rid of this smell??? I do not want to load my car down with those babypowder air-freshners because I hate that crap. Any ideas?

I had my whole car repainted in December and it does not smell like paint. It was fine after a few weeks, actually. I just used a My Shaldan scented can like I always do. I hate the smell of baby powder. It's gross.

Default Repaint smell?

Give it time! If you want, you could change the cabin air filter? It will go away with time!

^^ +1, some overspray may have gotten into your airducts. If you can, change the cabin filter, then let the car run with the windows all open and crank the heater/ac for a little while in the driveway, maybe itll blow some of it out. Eventually it'll fade once the solvents all dissolve out.

Sorry for the delayed reply, I went to Sat. & Sun. rounds of The Master's.

Thanks for the advice. I was thinking it would go away with time as well, just thought it had been long enough. I will also change my cabin filter (just changed it a couple of months ago) if that will help. My car has a nice new car smell so I did not want to get any aftermarket air fresheners involved so hopefully she will be back to normal soon.

Well, washed my car up this evening and thought about what you guys said regarding the filter....bingo. That was the culprit for sure. I am airing it out, but will probably just get a new one or try to doctor this one up. That is why the smell only came around when the air/heat was on. Thanks guys.
