If it is rattling, then your cats are no more good. There are a total of 3 cats. Check to see which one is bad by hitting the cat. If it makes noise, that is the one.

The PCV is the hose connected from the valve cover (driver's side) to the intake.

The fuel filter is in the fuel tank.

Thanks. So the PCV is the entire hose, or does it have a valve and a hose. Just asking as I never looked for it on this car.

Does anyone know which size and length aftermarked cats I would need?

I dont have the service manual for the GS430....only GS300 and GS400.

Here is the PCV Valve for the GS400....should look similar for your GS430.

Good luck.

Pete

This thread has a lot of ideas but very little of practical theroy of why it might be happening.
It is not your cats since the car still revs up just slower. Plugged cats restrict the rpms not the horsepower.
Skip the try this and don't do that's.
Take the car to a technition who has a proper break out box who can monitor the signals from the tach , throttle position , maf and otherwise to tell you exactly what the problem is in 10 minutes.

Thanks Pete.

This thread has good ideas, especially replacing the parts that have never been replaced, even better since they are cheap.

Techs will cost more than a PCV valve and fuel filter, which I wouldn't even think about replacing without this board. My buddy at Lexus can monitor all of this, but I would need to take a day off from work to drive up to NJ for him to do it. That is just not feasible right now. I need to try and solve this on my own for now.

As far as plugged cats, if I look at the tach when taking off, the rpms jump about 500rpm, then pause then start to go back up very slowly.

Dude, when if you make it here tonight, we can swap MAFs, and see how your car runs with my maf. I have a feeling that its your MAF.

Did you change your cats out? Did you go stock or magnaflow? Thanks.

Never changed my cats out...depending on if I keep the car longer than 1-2 more years then I WILL invest in new cats; they will be direct fit ones...I think made by Catco if I'm not mistaken. Made for the GS and no where near the cost of the OEM ones...GL!

Ha ha you're funny. I know, I really couldn't break the screws loose with a screwdriver, just kept stripping them. Once I broke them loose, I used a screwdriver.

Rock-a-lex, do have a part number or something.

Och, tried calling you. Your phone goes to voicemail. Where are you.
