TOM's computer for GS
#2
I'm pretty sure they don't sell it for the GS but the Japansese based aristo (JZA161). It is supposed to control performance aspects of the car and hence increase the power output as well as tweak couple other functions. It is not compatible with your lexus GS400/GS300/GS430.

About an year ago, we had this discussion and Steve sent back all the information to TOM'S in order to develop the ECU for GS. I met with Steve 3 weeks ago and he still hasn't heard anything back from them. It's not going to work. The ECU is different in Aristo and GS.

Steve sent back what information to TOMs?
Why would TOMs send anything to Steve in the first place if the Aristo is not sold here in the US?
Thanks for helping me understand.

However I do not think they'll work AT ALL. Even the US and Japanese spec ECU harness is different quite a bit. Even if you have a GS300 and it's the same as the S300 Aristo in Japan, it's not going to work.
In conclusion they will NOT work with GS300/400/430.

ECU....... I think Japanese version has like some extra pins (or some less pins? I'm totally out of it now) so some electronic parts harness don't just plug-and-play. I encountered that problem when i was looking for S-AFC.
Most of us get leather....... most of them cloth....
They have a GREAT NAV/TV system......... we have this.
They have a turbo brother....... we have a V8 brother.......
that's about all i can think of now.

And dude, what pisses me off to the max (I will never forgive Lexus America for this, so **** you if you're reading this), but the V300 with cloth and walnut trim has an MSRP of like $34-35K on Toyota's Japanese Website...

Don't blame Lexus of America because all japanese cars are like that. If you wanna blame, blame the import duty and taxes on import cars. Who doesn't want a new NSX for 70k?
