Default lexus gs fog lights..why are they not bright?

i have a 02 lexus gs300, i changed the bulbs to yellow HID, and yes i have the yellow filament inside my fogs not the clear ones. They are brighter but my friend has a ford explorer and he has yellow fogs as well, but his seem to light up the whole road, like he can drive with his foglights on and not even his headlights. Does anyone know maybe i have to buy a different housing or anything that makes my yellow fog lights alot more brighter than they already are. Thanks

Fogs are aimed at the ground. But when they're on an Explorer, they are probably at the same level as your headlights. So they seem brighter.

The fogs are very bright compared to many other cars. The yellow makes them look so awsome. You want dull OEM fogs, check out the discontinued Acura CL. Owners complain they don't even know why they are there b/c they are so dim.

make sure they're aimed properly.. meaning not too high and not too low. there's a white circular looking thing with teeth you use to aim the fogs. they are in the back of the actual fog light unit. you will see it after you've removed the fog light housing.
