The cluster is lit by 3 thin rings of tubes. If you remove them you can replace them with LED's like below and they will be much brighter. The angle in which you mount them is extremely important as to how they will light up the cluster. You have to trail and error but that part is not hard at all. You just power them from a 12v battery, position them, and then dry fit the outer cluster to see if they evenly light or not. Taking apart the cluster is not hard just do it on a CLEAN table and know where everything goes. It helps sometimes to take a picture before each step so if you get lost you can look at the picks and see where stuff goes. LED's like this are the best since they are very slim yet spaced closely together. You will lose the ability to dim them but that never was important to me.

yeah it uses CC (cold cathode) tubes....and i thought if u replaced them even with LED's you would get "Warm" spots?
