Does anyone know how to disable governor???
So I've had my 3.76 lsd installed for about two months or so... and I love it more than life itself!!! But the problem now is that every time I run against another car with cojones (which usually happens on the freeway) the dam governor kicks in at 130 and I end up looking like a big puss..... Last night I ran against a 05'ish m3 and he was slowly pulling away from me but then i hit 130 and I had to stop... it's a really annoying feeling... So I found this product from HKS - http://www.hksusa.com/categories/?id=1926 ..... Don't know if this would work but I have to get this done no matter what... I know my car can go more because when i hit 130 I'm only at 4900 rpm... If anyone know any other way of disabling this crap please let me know... Thanks -Jayson

For the record, it's NEVER a good idea to be going 130mph. It's considered reckless driving and can be VERY dangerous for you and anyone around. The couple times when I have gone that fast, my governor never kicked in and I was going over 135. The only governor that stopped me was my head. I think the governor cuts off anything past 149mph

u know when i first joined these boards and made a post bout my gov kicking on at 123 i got this same crap from people talking bout killing yourself or others and how dumb i was for going that fast...well guys if you don't really wanna help OP or be constructive bout helping OP....don't comment. you just fuel a fire that doesn't need to get started
OP....i,myself even looked into the SLD by HKS but didn't wanna spend that kinda money on a part i REALLY wasn't sure would work or didn't need. on my bike i cruise around over a 100 ALL day normally 120+ in the car now i have gotten a tad more safe conscious and stay lower than 80 now (partly as im joining the MPD and it would get me kicked out quickly) normally but i have seen some 120+ cruising

What everyone needs to understand is that I'm gonna drive how I drive reguardless of how anyone feels about it... So I guess it's pretty safe to assume that no knows how to kill the govenor?

welcome....i know the frustration i had people telling me i couldnt drive cause i couldnt get past 123 and i was like man i have the pedal floored and the governor is coming on...but now after breaking my differential, im wondering if the junkyard diff that was in there wasnt right making the gearing diff somehow messing up my top speed!
i dont think so...i never did get a definitive answer when i had my post
