i have a problem with my gs300 1997, on driving i hear a strange howling type noise it is hard to describe but it i not very noticible and also on braking it sounds like a electric car! i am sure the two sounds are part of the same problem. i changed the cambelt and transmission oil but it made no difference, everything else seems fine.
can anyone help me?

yea...try 1st gen section...but that sounds like a bad wheel bearing

think Preston hit the nail on the head. it sounds like a wheel bearing and you can probably get better help in the 1gs section...u in the 2gs section. although we'll help if we can sir
