Default GS300/400 Steering Flutter Field Fix Procedure

Hello guys, I just stop by the lexus dealer to have them take a took for the steering wheel shimmy, and here is what the master mechanic recommends. The parts cost about $200+ and the labor takes 6 hrs, total about $1000+. I told them that I will make my decision later. I don't think with this kind of cash, I rather try to do it myself with the DIY instructions, or something. I need a challenger to take the lead on this one. Any volunteer guys?

Parts Information:
1. #44277-22020, Seat, Rack Guide - Qty=1
2. #44327-30030, Gasket, Pressure Port No.1 = 2
3. #45516-30060, Grommet, Steering Rack Housing, No.1 = 1
4. #45523-22040, Guide, Rack (for steering Gear) = 1
5. #45524-16010, Cap, Steering rack Guide Spring = 1
6. #90208-22002, Wave Washer = 1
7. #90430-17008, Gasket, Pressure Tube = 2
8. #90502-32001, Spring (for Steering Rack Guide) = 1

Required Tools & Materials

Tool Part#
1. 09612-10022-02, Hex Wrench = 1
2. 09616-00010-02, Steering Worn Bearing Adjustment Socket = 1
3. 09951-07100-01, Handle 100 = 1
4. 09922-10010, Variable Open Wrench = 1
These tools are OTC.

If anyone would like to try this route and post the results for DIY and report the outcome. We all can benefit from the issue of steering wheel shimmy at 55-65mph.

Yes, I also mention about tighten the bolt and they are not recommended due to fact that the steering rack guide has been changed from a roller type to a seat type meaning it can cause a wear and tear since the metal plate rubbing against each other when you do tighten the bolt. I would like to change those parts without tighten the bolt, but I don't know where to begin and only if we have a DIY instructions. Good luck to all of us of trying to tackle this shimmy issue.
