A C/F lips poiler would be pretty expensive to fix too if it ever got bumped, chipped, or road rash. Besides, a lip spolier, poly, doesn't weigh that much in the first place.

Wait - my TRD grill was a faux C/F pattern, that I painted over; it was just the grill, and it wasn't C/F.

Now, my UGO STBs are.

how much did you pay? you say it fits like stock? for real? do you have to use hood pins or does it just work like stock right?

can you still utilize the hydrolics to open the hood?
Sasha, I paid $525 shipped to Hawaii. I don't use hoodpins on my hood because it fit like stock. I did not put back the stock hydrolics because the stock hood weighs much more than the CF hood and when opening the CF hood with the hydrolics hooked up the hood would shoot up, so if your not paying attention you might get slapped by your own car.

I was considering on putting a carbon fiber hood on one condition... if there was an air scoop (similar to AB Flug's) atop the air filter portion. You're right about the carbon fiber clashing especially with our paint schemes... maybe a two layer paint job and three layers of clear coat.
Quest has a CF hood for the Aristo and it looks kinda cool..... but also kinda weird. It's a hybrid 1/2 frp 1/2 CF hood I think. What's the difference between wet and dry carbon?

the last thing to figure out is if it would look good on my car...

i wonder if a painted grill would work with it or if i should go with the TRD so called carbon grille...so dex its not really CARBON FIBRE? just the look?

Correct - the TRD grill has just the painted on C/F pattern.

I mean, again, you wouldn't be saving a lot of weight and adding to structural rigidity using a C/F grill. Its a plastic part in factory form anyway.

Oh man,
itsallgood you gave me a good laugh with that visual this morning. Thanks for the help. I was looking into Fiber Images myself so I guess the recommendation helps with the decision.

BTW I might be in Oahu May 23-24 for a conference. I will definitely be in Maui April 5-12. I love it there!
