so i own a 2000 gs400. and this is the second time this has happened to me! i was driving down mc fadden (im in socal) at a red light i step on the gas to go when the light turns green and i dont move.. then i notice my car is off! the first time it happend was about 3 weeks ago.. i was slowing down to turn into my driveway and i gased it and cars off! iono what it can be.. my music is still playing and bumping.. all my lights work...just the motor is off can it be i needa change sparkplugs? i dunno.. anyone have a clue?

clean your MAF? This happened to me a few times last week everytime i came to a stop or slowed down. My engine just shut down. I cleaned my maf and havent had issues yet.

maybee huh? but i heard it was a big Bit** cleanning the maf for the 400.. or it cuases problems? but thank you tom!

cleaning MAF is easy. just be extremely careful.

ok. this happened to me a few month ago not a lexus but a honda. it turned out was my key ignition (the electric part of the igntion) i changed it and car never dies again. not sure if it's the same for your car. gl.

Try cleaning your TB since you got the non-eletric type. Change your PCV located on the valve cover on the driver's side. If air filter is dirty "replace" and then clean your MAF if you will. GL.
