02 78k GS3 I just purchased. Looking at the carfax, lower ball joint was replaced at 35k. Will run VIN at dealer to see if both were done or just one. I plan on buying replacement ball joints off eBay soon. No need purchasing the "inflated" price on the faulty OEM ball joint. I replaced the ball joints on my Infiniti @ 200k...so it's a shame they built the OEM joints poorly.

I'm up to 168k in my 99 GS400. Replacement parts:
Timing belt 165k
Water pump 165k
Alternator ~145k
Lower Ball Joints ~150k
Gas cap ~120k
I got it with 118k and I'm probably going to end up keeping it for a while even though it's currently for sale. The 2GS forum always makes me want to keep it forever.

Didn't know carfax shows details like ball joint replaced.. just heads up I am not sure if the theory of if the oem part is faulty then aftermarket can make it btter really applies.. most of the gs I see do have to have the front end suspnsion work done on it with the age.. id recommend u don'tbuy the ebay brands as they are worst and some have had to replace them on the fourm within months of install.. just fyi do a search on here about ball joints and upper control arms.. sewell lexus is a club sponser and the will give u great prices on th prts once u register wih them with ur screen name..its much lower picing..u will spend a few dollars for uppoer control arms when. Need them but id recommend u get oem.. and most of the board will agree..u have tu buy wole assembly. Not just ball joint comes..
Back to topic where's pic of the 400k gs odometer!!! Lol props to the guy with 335 that's awesome!! I got 01 w 162..this car is awesome..drive 130mph like a brand new car feels like ur doing 65.. lol this car is built like a tank.. no shakes no nothing..I usually hid my miles and have the trip odo on lol so I don't have to feel like my car has so many miles lol awesome topic guys!!
