Nice!
I only have 110.5K on my 2002 GS300, owned since '09 at 28k, but now I'm driving 500 miles a week plus traveling every so often.
Yeah, just had all my door locks start breaking and the hood latch, which I bypassed.

2002 GS300 with 251k miles. TB & WP, valve cover gasket, spark plugs, etc. done at 235k. Recently replaced radiator, thermostat, all 4 door actuators and new brake pads/rotors. Still running like a champ but will need to replace the rear shocks soon though.

What did you do on the hood latch? mine opens fine, but doesn't like to release the cable enough to latch again, leave it be for a day and it latches again. It feels like the cable is binding somewhere. In the Lexus service history it happened a long time ago before I bought the car. The cable was replaced.

I tried lubricating it etc. Lexus temporarily fixed it. Started doing it again, so I did THIS. If you drill a hole, but careful not to damage anything on the other side, then you can use car key or whatever and you just push latch or lever back in place manually each time you open it. Looks like I probably found this page when I was trying to figure out how to fix it long time ago.

Mine seems ok in winter, causes me grief in summer.

I'll look into it!

Thanks!

How do the 2JZ's hold up? Any issues with them to ever worry about? I've only seen a handful of the engines in person, plenty of the cars are driving around.

I think just the valve cover gasket, which must be easy - Lexus in Omaha, the best one now being in two other states, charged me $76 to replace it.
And then I had the not if, but when o-ring leak on the vvti gear, which is easy to fix also: https://www.clublexus.com/forums/gs-...n-o-rings.html
Always changed my oil with mobile-1 full synthetic 5k or sooner, usually twice a year, but I burn about 1-qt every 2k miles and I have seen many tests since that I'm going to move to a different synthetic brand. Never had anything go bad on the car, but it is getting old. Kind of amazing all the rubber hoses etc still good and original at 17+ years old.

Yikes! 1qt per 2k? My 1UZ does 2 quarts per 25k. I use Amsoil HDD diesel oil (5W30) or Amsoil Signature Series 5W30. Both are stellar oils. I used I think 3 quarts with the HDD and 2 with the SS oil.

I'm not into cheap oil I know, but lets face it, I have 327600k miles on it, and I only change every 25k miles. I do oil analysis every oil change, so I know just how clean it is inside and what is wearing and what isn't, and it isn't wearing like most oils do. Its just plain worth it. I use an Amsoil EAO-26 filter, which might fit a 2JZ, which adds 1.5 quarts or more over a stock tiny filter. Total 7 quarts fill and I am glad to do it.

Sadly my car was totaled last month, I still drive, but just waiting on the insurance check now. So off to find another ride. Looking at a 3GS4 or maybe a LS430. Might consider a low miles 98-00 LS400

I'm guessing it's just this engine. It turns 3k+ rpms at 75mph+ because the gearing. Before I started driving such high-speed highways, I never had to add between changes. I also had a b230f from Volvo with 300k+ miles burnt zero oil, never had a seal replaced. Same with the Toyota 3.0 V6 used in ES Avalon, which was my favorite car, which is why I think I'm about done with the GS. Replaced some suspension, which helped a lot, but far from what i consider good.

2004 gs300 210k. No issues everything works fine. I had to replace a bunch of small stuff and HG but other than that its completely in tact with major original parts.
