Guys....
for those of you with 98-00 gs lexos. Some of you had asked about the chrome L bage on the steering wheel. I have one on mine. It is the one that comes in the 2000 ES300 under the hood. I AM SURE IT IS NOT THE ONLY LEXUS IT COMES IN SINCE I AM NOT FAMILIAR WITH ALL THE BADGING ON LEXUS CARS. Anyway, this little mod would only be 15 bills compared to roughly 600 bills for a new steering wheel/airbag... The pic is kinda crappy because it is really sunny out right now, but it looks really classy up close.. I hope this helps someone.

Good point on the "ninja star" angle... I just glued the ****** out of it so it won't fly. It will stay with the plastic piece of the steering wheel. I got my emblem from the engine compartment of the 2000/01 ES300 platinum edition. The one that has the HID's. Unfortunately, I do not have a part #. Maybe your local Lex dealer can find out. "OR".... look on the lots for a 00/01 ES and check it out.... It will be there. Sorry if I am not giving you guys much to go on, but I swear that is where I got it from. But trust me when I tell you that it looks really sharp. I will look around and see if I can get a hold of them. Has anyone tried to contact Mr Lexus(Gantz) at Carson Toyota yet? He might be able to help. Definately adds a touch of class and accents the chrome handles. I am trying to get a hold of the chrome shifter trim ring now. Can anyone help with that??

I carefully removed mine from my 2001 RX out of fear I might be branded if the air bag was needed. Later a Lexus tech told me the steering wheel airbag was redesigned so the part the logo was on would remain attached and wouldn't go flying into my face.
So if yours didn't come with a logo it would be safer not to add one.

Ok guys, here's the update........ I just got back from the Lexus dealer(picked up my new 2001 display panel w/silver rings). Let me just say that this thing looks hot. Really sporty. As far as the plug, it will not fit as evreryone lese here has said, but you can still put it in to the slots, though they will not fit all the way in. There is a small gap that gives it almost a 3d look. they are deeper than the panel itself. It's not unbearable, but not worthy of looking that way in any Lexus if you know what I mean. I think the car deserves better, so i am using the plug to insure a good clean factory look. ALSO, I went to and looked at a ES300, popped the hood, and guess what I saw?? This L badge I was talking about. It is there. This is the one that you can use on your steering wheel for the 98-00 gs. Anyway, i will post a pic shortly so you can see what the panel looks like with the turn signals on.

When airbags deploy, they break open the steering wheel in half vertically or horizontally. To be safe, I'd glue the badge only on one side (left, right, top, or bottom), therefore it will not be thrown when the glue finally snaps. Anyway, I don't think it'll hit you either way. It may fly off, but the airbag expanding will push it away to the side. Looks good, Rockero!

Will you post a closeup pic of your steering wheel too while taking some pics?
