Hi all,
I'm currently looking into buying a 01 GS300 w/130k on it? I also own a 95 Supra na w/60k that has the same inline 6 as the lexus. My question to you guys is there anything that I should look out for on the GS cars? I'm pretty sure that I can pick this up for 5k since it does have some very slight body work that needs to be done.
I almost bought a 02 Maxima for a daily driver but when this came along I must have it....hopefully it will be a trouble free lexus.

should be same maintenance as your supra.
timing belt water pump and ish
check to see that all the powerwindows work too. its common to have one of them stop working
and also check the door locks. the window motors usually go bad

 

That would be a good deal if everything checks out fine. Out here in SoCal the GS overpriced. I saw an '01 GS300 with 132k miles listed at $8k, and the door locks don't even work. But I did recently pick up an '01 GS300 with 73k miles in good condition for $9k, which I considered was a good deal.

 

Make sure all the door locks work fine

 

are you kidding me, you think it was a good deal?????????? that is an increadible deal. i almost double for my 01 gs300 w/ 60,000 miles alittle less than a 2 years ago (i know the market was different but...)

 

ekc that's pretty good for a gs300 w/ 73k miles! I've been trying to pick up a GS300 around here in orange county, but the prices are too high for the mileage 150k+

i paid 18k for mine in 06 with 78k miles. price dropped so fast, i dont think i would ever sell my car at these prices

 

swat- i feel ya, that is just about what i payed in 07 for mine. well boys lets just hope this market pics up in the near future so it not we are drive a new civic or sion tc priced cars
