Help! I need 1st generation Navigation hard disk for 1998 GS
Hello,
I am new to the forum and was wondering if anyone had the wafer shaped hard disk for a 1st generation navigation system. I have a 1998 GS300. The one I had was stolen and Sewell lexus (as well as the other dealers) require the core to send me a replacement disk with the updates. I am not about to ante up 500 bucks for the lost core so I just wanted to see if anyone had an old one that they no longer use or someone that updated to an aftermarket GPS so that I could buy it off them. It does not matter if its not the most recent update, I just want to have something in there so the GPS actually works. I have attached a picture of the part I am looking for. thanks so much for ya'll help.

yep I finally made it on here! great forum!! and yes this freakin hard disk is harder to find than the holy grail!! any used one will do..can anyone help??

Check the Classifieds for part outs. Also start looking for Toyota / Lexus dismantlers that might have one like these guys.

typically when you upgrade the dealer will want the core back..god only knows why..I just need one that perhaps is coming from someone that had upgraded to an aftermarket GPS system..

The part pictured is NOT discontinued..Sewell Lexus is selling the 2005 upgrades..its $360 but require the core..I would be happy just any disk as long I have something to plug into the ECU..
