Thanks bud! Somewhere deep down inside I am still a little skeptical too (as in "this is too good to be true and how could the "professionals" have not found this"), but with every new day without the problem coming back, it's harder and harder to ignore the reality .
now that it is working, it might be time to get away from her and get a "clean slate" so to speak

Yup, this crossed my mind, but I tend to get attached to my cars, so I hate to sell it, especially knowing how well it has been taken care of all these years .
Just wanted to update - three years later and not a hiccup from the "bad" transmission, still works perfectly . So it was indeed the battery in my case.

3 years... almost time for a new battery jk congrats!
OP - just out of curiousity, what were the actual symptoms that you had from the tranny each time? I didn't see anything about it in your other thread, just that it had died three times.
For all those who are skeptical about what happened, I can fully attest to this phenomenon. This same exact thing happened to me, but not in my GS thankfully. It happened with my '95 3000GT last year. She would die on me while I was driving, and had to jump her a few times to get home. I asked around on the 3SI forums (no response from any members) and local shops and they all thought it was the alternator or clutch, and I took it to Zen Motors, and they found out it was a bad connection and the leads were shot. They replaced the battery, put new leads on, and she is golden!! They didn't try and upcharge me for a new alternator or any other crap. Stand up guys!!! Didn't even know about this thread.
