CRAP!!! I am getting a remote start installed right now. i am picking up my car at 10am tomorrow morning and didn't even think about the wheel moving. I too am kinda tall, 6'5" and would like the wheel to adjust after entry. That is such a plus for those of us over 6'2"...i hope it stays in place so i can hit the program button and have it move down when i wanna drive off.. At least i caught this thread before i sign it off in the morning and have it changed if necessary. Totally forgot about that since we tend to take advantage of such luxuries on our cars

LuxLink is $275, uses your regular key and doesn't lower the wheel.

You need to hit your memory button to lower the wheel.

Had mine for five years, works great.

My viper 5901 does the same thing and i have to press the memory button. paid $375 for it installed.

QUESTION?
My headlights use to shut off after pressing the lock button twice on my lexus key but when I asked my installer about the lights cutting off when i press lock button on my viper remote, he pretty much said im **** out of luck and that i either have to turn them off before exiting the car or wait the minute or so for them to shut off automatically.

Can the lights shut off with the viper alarm after i arm the car? thanks

Dang $275-$600 for remote start install that's crazy. Is that just remote start or alarm system too? I'm lucky my remote start unit I got for free and installed for free . On my old car i got 2-way remote/alarm installed for $100. my buddy does that and custom sound stuff. But my wheel does the same thing it doesnt move when you remote start the car i have to hit the #1 setting

His is alarm too, but even then the price range isn't that ridiculous for this car (I'd say $600 is a little excessive but it depends on the options installed). Compared to other vehicles, GS's (and some other Toyota models) are nothing short of a pain in the ***. When you start looking at trying to retain every luxury amenity and all the relays it takes to do so, it becomes an absolute nightmare. That's not to mention that just a standard install requires diode isolating and relaying in the passenger door just to do door locks, as well as going to each door if you want individual door triggers.

As for having the wheel come out before you even get in the car . . . why? If it doesn't come out when you put the key in the ignition, obviously it's a keysense issue (likely just needs to be hooked to an auxiliary output), but I can't imagine wanting to squeeze into the seat like that.

I got mine installed for $400.

Specifically asked them not to wire up the telescoping wheel.

I guess you are right I never really thought about all that stuff. The same kid that installed mine.. you should see the one on his car he has this transponder he's got can start the car with his cell phone lock/unlock do the windows up/down all kind of stuff.

I went with a Compustar, installed by a local shop that does great work. The wheel doesn't move when starting the car with the remote. I asked the installer to check on this, they say there is a work around. It's no big deal to me, I just push the button before putting the car in gear or moving the wheel down with the switch.
