Default Creaking/popping noise coming from rear seat

Just curious if anyone here has the same issue and more importantly knows how to correct this?? Basically the car is quiet when going down a smooth flat road but when turning or going over a series of small bumps i get a noticable creaking coming from the rear seat area of the car. Anyone know anything about this?

I have the same noise. I beleive there was a technical service bulletin issued in 2002 about the strut bushing being installed incorrectly. Does anyone know where you can get copies of the TSB in detail

I fixed it, TSB SU005-02. It is the rear insulator p/n 48259A for right rear. It is very difficult to see the damaged part of the insulator when on the car, it may be possilbe to use a mirror and look inside at the insulator through the coild spring. What happened is when installing the ding dongs rolled over the verticle part of the insulator leaving the coils spring to rub on the "shock tower" for lack of a better term. Overtime it wear and you get the clink, clunk, pop sound everytime you hit a bump or the chassis rolls.

Installation is not trivial, you have to get a spring compressor, remove the strut, mark to ensure you do not mess up alignment etc. I have pictures but dont know how to load if someone wants to pm me I will email and they can post. I am so glad the noise is gone. By the way the insulator cost $12.00!!!

quoting the tsb. During the rear strut assembly process, the coil spring upper insulator may have become deformed or unseated causing a metal to metal interference between the upper end of the coil spring and the spring upper support. The interference will result in a clicking noise fromt the rear suspension when driving over bumps.

Mine started very rare and then was almost constant. It will be damaged where the coil spring flattens out where it seats.
