Then maybe its the dark paint slimming it, cause it sure does look thin. But I'll stick to my 1/2" theory till its disproved

While it will reinforce the flex from the actual baffle simply by being attached, that top piece is more decoration than anything. It's definitely not 1/2" material for the enclosure. It may well be 3/4". With a heavy woofer, though, I'd be more inclined to see at least some bracing inside. You have plenty of space in there, and no bracing means that the only thing holding the actual baffle up will be the screws to the sides on it and the screws from the sides into the interior port wall. I'd love to see some braces made from one solid piece with the center hollowed out, perhaps following the angle of the sub. This would allow for a ton of strength while still giving plenty of airflow.

http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/boa...r-under-water/

although it didnt start raining there till sat (which was the 12th day and i was told a 10 day turn around for me so theoretically it shoulda already been shipped to me)

Brian I found this on my desktop. I save it from one of the link found on here. It is probably the best example.
Its' instruction from a hyper ground kit.

well box and trunk mock up is complete, they should be finishing it up today or tomorrow....still not sure what to do with my alternator. its been 20 days today since i paid for it, i dont think he's trying to screw me but i cant file a paypal claim after something is 30 days old so i dunno what to do yet..... i truly believe iraggi has the best alternators around but his customer service isn't the best. yes, i know he has flooding up there but as i said my alternator should have been back before the rain even started up there (according to him telling me i had a 10 day turn around)

really just waiting on a return phone call, PM, email or something
