Default Q's about Greddy front lip

Does anyone have any experience on the Greddy front lip? Before I go out any purchase one, I'd like to hear from anyone who has one. It's not fiberglass correct?? Comes in black??

Thanks,

Jeff

Go TTE instead. It goes better on your car and it's not as low.

Jeff - its polyurethane, and yes, it comes unpainted black. It slides snugly onto the lower front bumper, and mounts with 1 or 2 screws in each fender well. Very easy installation or de-installation when you have it re-panted. Its is solidlymounted and will withstand hard knocks and scrapes without coming loose.

Some say its too low, but I love mine.

Here's my install thread

Using the search function with "greddy lip" should produced several other hits for you to review as well.

I'm not sure I'd TOTALLY agree with the withstand hard knocks statement...

I liked mine (before it broke) but I'm getting the TTE installed this Friday as a replacement. The Greddy is pretty low to the ground and you need to modify your driving / parking patterns a little bit to keep from whacking it. Something my GF didn't learn .

Maybe I should clarify. What I meant was, if you catch it on something, its not going to crack, be fully ripped off, or explode. When Dave has his RR accident, the lip stayed mounted on the bumper; it wasn't ripped off by the contact.

The poly will give / flex a little.

I have a gs3 and I was looking in the wheel well the other day and I didn't see any place where I could mount the greddy lip (I didn't see any screws). Does this mean I have to drill?

I'd go TTE..Looks sharp and doesn't seem to stick out as far. Only problem i'd see is you have to glue the damn thing on...you know how that goes.

I have the TTE - yes it's glued on but its also screwed on with 5 screws in addition to the glue. 2 on the fenderwells and 3 across the bottom of the front area.

Nice and neat and snug. Check out my pesonal pics to see closeup

Plus, it's a GERMAN part and has a nice TTE logo on the middle heh heh...

Yeah I just got my Gracer Lip painted and put on today!!! I love it...... HI98GS who lives 2 minutes away from me has the TTE Lip with a modified front end and it looks really nice!!! Either way, you can't go wrong but the TTE costs a little more than $300 and the Gracer Lip costs less than $200.

Default drop?

Guys

Just how much lower do these lips go? I would like one, but.....With the L-Tune drop, im already a bit low up front for these California obstacles.

mayandoom,

If you are planning to keep your 17" then go with the TTE because it doesn't hang as low as the Greddy. But if you put 20" rims, then the Greddy lip is fine with that suspension set up.

Right - I have the LTuned susp, and when I had my OEM 17s, I had to be very careful with obstacles and even moderate driveway dips.

Now that I've got 18s on the front, it is noticably easier to navigate such obstacles.

Here's a pic of the lip on my car
I have the L-tuned suspension..and 19's .

Overall the lip is not too low and I haven't had any problems.

THE ONLY THING YOU SHOULD WORRY ABOUT (WHICH I HATE) IS THAT THE LIP IS VERY VULNERABLE TO ROCK CHIPS !!!

I have had mine painted like 3 times in 6 months....$200 a pop..

Overall, the mod is not too expensive and when combined with a different grill, the front of your car will look so much different than a stock Lex....

I would say GO FOR IT!
