Just curious if there is anyway to bypass or override the existing nav on a GS so that you can watch DVD's in motion. I have an 2002 GS with nav and ML. I have the latest upgeade to the 2008 maps which is disc version 7.1

Yes it is possible and has been done. All you need is a nav converter and a 12 volt dvd player. However installation is not as simple, it depends on which one you get.

if your talking about usin the nav player in your trunk as the DVD player then no....but with a aftermarket unit u can. i was looking into using a gx470's OEM cd/dvd player in my oem cd player spot for a oem look but the conversion (the wiring harness was to high)
