93-97 GS300 Head Unit Install
My buddy at a stereo shop says he found a company that has a kit for the 93-97 GS but I am not completly sure it is available. My other guy that runs a shop says we could custom something in fiber glass. I am just curious to see what people have done, with any pics if possible. Thanks

i haven't found a place cheap enough for me so my headunit is just in there with no car wit. also how did you get your headunit screws to line up. i only have screws on one side of my head unit because the screws dont line up on the bracket

well i ran into that problem when i was changed my stuff over, everyone want to charge 200 or so just to make a custom install kit.
This is what i did;
use mdf board (medium density fiberboard) or you can use something like particle board like what you make speaker boxes out of then, cut a pattern from your factory head unit and cut a slot for your new unit in the middle. If you want the black finish, prime it paint it it will look ok, pretty good actually if you use mdf. i personally ordered a woodgrain kit for my car which covered all vents, instrument panel etc. but i custom order an uncut pattern for my custom kit and cut out the slot for the radio with exacto knife, woodgrain is real easy to install too. so the entire dash is woodgrain. You can do the same with carbon fiber etc. I paid $100 for that solid piece and you can order it without the kit if you like. You can purchase small metal strips that have holes in them, to screw into the mbf and attach to the iso mount brackets of the car that house the ac unit controls etc. I am able to slide my unit in and out like normal without removing the entire center instrument panel.
