i have an 01' gs300 and i exchanged my spark plugs for the torque masters and now my check engine light is on and it misfires bad. especially around 2500 RPM's. i have to down shift in order for me to pick up speed when getting on the freeway.
took my car to get checked out and it turns out it read that it has a misfire on all cylinders!!! the mechanic told me that its the spark plugs that i put on, that lexus wont take those kind that i should jsut stick to the OEM plugs. he tol dme to go out and buy OEM and coil packs to fix the problem.
i have read that a lot of memebers here r using the torque masters with no problems. does any one have any ideas of what is wrong with my car?? or ideas of how i can further diagnose my car before i go drop $450 on new plugs and coil packs??
thanks in advance!!

well the problem is that when i first put them on about 3 months ago it was fine for about a month then i started noticing it and it slowly started getting worse. adn the wierd thing is taht it wouldnt even do it somedays. and now its at its worse and i gotta just cruise when i drive cuz i have no power especially at lower RPM's. yes they where torqued properly also (at least my brothere said he did, i may have to double check his work tho cuz that could be the problem). i just dont get it. many people have used the torque masters plugs on this site. could i have just gotten a bad set??

i did not gap the plugs. i just put them in as they where. i will try to reset the ECU right now and see if it fixes the problem. i went with the torque masters because i read that a lot of people on this forum have gone with these plugs and have been happy. they have also noticed very slight power gain and slight increase in MPG but hey something is something. and they only cost me about $25 more than it would have cost for me to get OEM ones so i figured i might as well go with some that r suppose to be better. well at least i thought they where gonna be.

I have had the TM plugs in my '01 430 for about 7k miles now and so far haven't had any problems *Knock on wood* but my mechanic told me about a GS300 that he installed the plugs in that had problems. He said it would sometimes shake and misfire, so maybe it's just an issue with the 300's? Check and make sure you got the right plugs because when I bought mine the guy told me that there are two different models of the TM plugs. If you got the right ones, then try removing them and re-installing them again, and reset the ECU right after. Hopefully one of those will help

thanks a lot truplaya26. i have since re-checked all the wires thinking maybe it had a bad connection or so but they samethin happen. i wll go all the way this time and take them completely out and re-install them and see what happens adn also re-set the ECU cuz i didnt do that the first time. i guess if that doesnt work its back to OEM plugs!!
side note- the mechanic i went to recommended me change my coil packs because even if they are not bad now that they will soon begin to give me prolems being that my car has 130,000 miles. coil packs are going for $100 each and i will need three of them. should i go ahead and take the hit now or wait to see if i will need them in the future?
Thanks for any advice
