I guess they made the bushings softer on the 2nd gen GS so soften the ride. For the SportDesign they went back to an arm with stiffer bushings (1st gen arms). The SportDesign has different shocks, springs, arms, steering ECU, etc than the standard GS. I installed the SportDesign steering ECU in my car. It's similar (if not the same) to the old L-Tuned Steering ECU.

It depends on what you like. IMO, I would rather have a stiffer arm than a soft arm. If I needed a new upper front arm, I would get a 1st gen/SportDesign arm.
