Default New GS430

Im so excited!!!

I take delivery of my 2001 GS430 on Wednesday. Its black on black with mark levinson and nav... fully loaded with all options... it has some aftermarket 18s on it, but i think i might put the gs rims back on cuz i think they look better.

Any opinions on what rims to get???

ill post pics when i get the car.

What aftermarket 18s are they? I have 17" Lexus 5-spoke alloys and am thinking of switching to 18s.

Forget 18's---you've just entered the world of a Big Body Vehicle----the smallest you should go is 19's---I would do 20's

yeah, i was just thinking about that. Im sure i can do with 20s, but its all a cost thing...

right now, there are AT Italia S5 18x7.5s on the front and back with 245/40-18s on front and back...

Im trying to find a really nice deep dish chrome or alluminum set of 19s or possibly 20s.

Go 20's all the way!!!!! I was thinking about getting a late model GS4 and the first thing i am going to do is put 20's on it before tint or tag. My friend just bought a 99 GS3 and put some 20's on it Saturday, Chrome Lowenhart (look alikes). looks great he had hook up got rims for 1500 new wholesale from a local distributor.

Anyway 20's are more in circulation than 19's so when it comes time to get tires you will get a better deal on the 20's actually.

Whatever you do Toog4me, don't get knock-offs. That would be the most insulting thing you could do to the GS430. If I were you, I wouldn't even get LD-1s because they are sooo played out, they've become the ghetto fabulous wheel of the year.

if you want some nice rims for a nice price you should talk to wheel kenetics, they can get you some nice JDM wheels from japan for a good price, and youll probably be the onlyone around who has them

Never been to a DUB event... although i wouldnt mind. Its in Cali right? i am on the other side of the nation. If i must catch a flight to go it think i will just look at the jpg.s

Oh and i hate knockoffs, Wannabee stuff. Don't buy a high end car and put low end wheels on it. It is an insult, and just proves that you really couldnt afford the car to begin with.

In other words, " BALLIN ON A BUDGET"

Dub - eh, I don't know, I think this mag is wacked for the most part. Most of the wheels are ghetto...they're all about chrome uglies in that magazine...I remember in the first issue, everyone had Arelli (or some other ugly brand) on every car (cuz the company gave them the wheels)...I'd rather buy JDM magazines...

The show is ok, lots cheezy ***** and ghetto mods though...but if you're into "rap" music, you'll probably like it...my car be in the show, I haven't decided yet...99.99% of the Dub attendees wouldn't know the difference between a sway bar and a blow off valve...so long as you have 42" Chrome wheels (even on a Yugo), most of the attendees will be impressed...does that you anything? (at least that how the two shows I went to was like)

a lot of it is ghetto fabulous, true. I still like it true Diversity---"The American Way" I must admit a lot of the cosmetic mods they do i would never do or maybe couldnt afford to do but it trips me out to see it.

Like taking a new 4 wheeler and then putting 20 inch daytons on it, 8 grand invested but you can't go in the dirt or ride on the street (no tag) just an expensive go kart. That's dumb. but looks good. I wouldn't do it i would be in the dirt though. All it is really is an opportunity to show everyone how much money you have. For those getting the money illegally, might as well have fun before you spend the next 10-25 years in PRISON, and for all the sports players we make that happen everytime we buy a jersey, cap, go to a game, etc. (i like sports but that's why i never stop what i am doing {ie. making my own money} to watch millionaires play)

Just my .02
