Question TTE lip and which sidestep?

For those of you who have the TTE front lip, which side skirts did you end up getting? Are you happy with the flow/fitment of the parts separately and together?

I am looking at L-Tuned and L-Sportline right now but without seeing these in person, I don't have strong opinions on either.

Thanks for any input.

I'm using it with the stock side skirts.

It is subtle so I don't think the sides are necessary.

400DGRZ, thanks for the catch. I've been looking at parts for my SUV so apparently I did not switch modes when I posted here. I've fixed the original post.

AgGS400, how much does the lip add to the bumper in terms of ground clearance that you think side skirts are not necessary? 1"? more? less? Is your car lowered? Thanks.

I haven't installed it but it drops the front down about 2".

My car is lowered about 1" and already scrapes pretty good.

I think the tte website shows the lip with the stock skirts.

www.tte.de

With 1" lower and lip you are looking at about 4" total ground clearance which isn't much.

Late.

I just had the TTE put on last Friday and I have l-tuned side skirts. The L-tuned sides (IMO) aren't much lower than factory, they just curve out more.

I'll post some pics soon - have been sick with a bad cold since last weekend and haven't really felt like doing more than look at the lip and say "that looks nice" then shut the garage door and crawl back into bed.

PM me if you don't see the pics by this Friday.

HI98GS has the TTE lip with the L-Sportline Sides........ It looks excellent!!!!!!!!!! It totally matches the flow from the front to the sides. But now he stuck.............. he can't decide on a rear bumper????????

Well so far, the responses have included the two sides that I was looking at. If you guys can muster pics, it would be very helpful. Close up pics of the sides would be nice too since I've been curious how seamless the sides "connect" with the car.

I currently have the L-Tuned suspension and wheels. On certain days, it seems low enough and looks pretty good. On other days, a couple of inches lower would be nice. Decisions, decisions ...

Default Took some quick pics

Neo,

Took some quick snapshots yesterday and uploaded them. The first four or five in my folder in the gallery show the TTE lip and L-tuned sideskirts. I tried to get several angles for you.

Link to my folder

Quality on these isn't the best as I was in a hurry, but should give you an idea.

DaveGS4,

Thanks for the pics. The lip really work well with the front of the car. The L-Tuned sides seem to be lower than the lip and look definitely lower than the rear bumper. This would make the 3 parts at different levels. Is this true or is it just the pics?

I think it's more the angle of the pics. The L-tuned sides don't really drop the factory sides all that much, they just flex outward a bit rather than rolling under.

One of the reasons I liked them is the minimalist change. Not sure what color your GS is, but if its black like mine most of the time you can't tell they're on the car. I typically have to manuever and catch the angle/light just right to show them in a picture. Take a look around CL and on the L-tuned site for pics on other-colored cars for a better sample of how they fit.
