Hello my fellow lexus owners,
I own a 2001 GS400. I get a yellow light on my dash indicating that one of my lights is out. I checked every light and they all seem to be working. However, I've noticed that one of my daytime running lights (9005) is brighter than the other. I've tried replacing bulbs and I checked the fuses and everything seems fine. I took it to the mechanic and he was clueless. He stated that one light is pulling like 13V and the other is pulling 5V. He said something like one light gives power to the other (in other words he connects one light and it will not go on until he connects the other). He said that he had never seen anything like this. Is this normal? I've searched forums cannot find an answer. Please help. Thanks.

The side that is taking 5V is actually the DRL lights that is properly working. The side that is taking 13V is actually the High Beam is being on. So this side is getting power for the high beam for some odd reason. You would need an electrical diagram for this to pin point this. Some one upload for him please.

Although all of your lights are on they may not be the correct bulbs, I had this problem in my 2000 GS300. Check your third brake light in the back window. Make sure that the 5bulbs are 168's opposed to 194's. This is weird because the owners manual says that the correct bulbs are 921's which are clearly to large for the assembly. This surely fixed my problem and I hope it helps you....
